The combat seems to follow the latest Final Fantasy games which feature a lot of real time action. That appears to be one of the newest things about Final Fantasy XVI. Most notably though, it showed the legendary beings (Eikon, Guardian Force, Summons) in actual combat - health bar and all. The new trailer showcased at State of Play featured some combat footage as well as a few cutscenes. While we didn’t get an exact date, we now know that the game is officially arriving, at least for now, in the summer of 2023.
